At Gelbergs we understand that buying a property at an auction can be a daunting process. Unlike traditional property transactions where a contract is not entered into until exchange, when purchasing a property at auction a legally binding contract is formed when the hammer goes down on the highest bid. For this reason it is imperative that when considering buying at auction, you understand the process of placing a bid for a property. It is equally important that you engage the services of a professional to review the documentation prior to the auction, so that any potential problems are highlighted before a contract is entered into. This is likely to save you unnecessary hassle, expense and debt in the future.
Call on your PALS
We are proud to announce our latest service, Property Auction Legal Services (PALS), specifically aimed at assisting clients who are thinking about buying or selling a property at auction, or those who regularly buy or sell at auction. Our inaugural PALS session was held at Auction House London's February auction at the Marriot Hotel, Regents Park, and was a huge success.
As part of the PALS service our specialist property solicitors provide: a personal service at the auction venue, straightforward advice on your auction documents, legal representation on your behalf as soon as your bid is successful, and a dedicated solicitor to be there for you from pre-auction all the way to completion. We understand exactly how much speed is required, and the importance and necessity of straightforward advice and support when you need it the most.
Quality over Quantity
Gelbergs is a member of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme, a recognised quality mark. Therefore, you can be assured that we will follow best practice, meet the highest standards of technical expertise and client service, and are able to satisfy regulators, lenders and insurers.
If you are thinking about buying or selling a property at auction, or have an enquiry regarding our PALS service, please feel free to contact Graeme Taylor or Russell Shapiro to discuss how we can help you.
